Sustainable Recreation

Resource management agencies aim to provide high-quality outdoor recreation experiences while preserving and restoring the outstanding natural and cultural resources of the Lake Tahoe Basin. To that end, a primary objective is to establish Basin-wide recreation indicators, thresholds, and a monitoring framework related to user experience and the environmental effects of recreation and to acquire consistent and quality recreation data.  This initial Council   provides background information and materials to identify stakeholder values, current conditions, and priority issues related to recreational experiences.
